Okay well i have had peeps pestering me about not updating the blog - i keep telling yas - Twitter is the best place for updates coz i can send them from my fone. until i get a laptop it costs me money to go online people!

ANYWAYS so what have i done - well I read Twilight - AND I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!! I declare myself to be a fangirl - i am SOOO exited the movie is out tomorrow sometime (the cinema near here has a session at 10 tomorrow but it doesnt specify AM or PM so i am gonna rock up there and pre order a ticket this arvo...OMGAWD SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!) is Robert Patterson just the prettiest thing EVEEEEEEEEEEEER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i hope he makes a delicious Edward. i can watch the previews but none of these pcs have soumd and i havent found a headphone jack thingy so i cant HEAR the previews - but omgawd they make me excited! EXCEPT the scene where the bad guys show up when the good guys are playing baseball - HELLO ITS THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY! its supposed to be a stormy night! EPIC FAIL MOVIE MAKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
but we will see.

So yeah i loved it so much i started rereading yesterday....but i also went walkies yesterday and found the Chapters bookstore on Robson so was able to buy New Moon. I think Bellas mate Jacob is now a werewolf....though they havent explained it for sure yet and Bella is SLOW! :D

Anyways what have i done.....the days all blur. Sunday i went to the Aquarium - OMGAWD THE BELUGAS AND THE SEA OTTERS WERE SOOO CUUUUUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i dont know why but i thought the sea otters would be smaller....they looked about the same size as the seals they had there - except they had lotsa whiskers.....haha so cute.
they also had some dolphins there but they arent like the dolphins we always see in oz - pale grey ones....these ones were very dark with pale stripes.on the side.

but seriously i was in the place just over an hour and i was done.....CAD$20 down the toilet there! i also walked all the way there and back...i was super tired.
I THINk it was that day i went to the movies - i wanted to see Quantum of Solace but all the sessions till 10pm were sold out so i went and saw Burn After Reading. quite funny.
next day i did go see Quantum of Solace.....so taht would be monday......i dont recall what else i did.....very little obviously!

yesterday i was gonna get up early and go out but when i went to have a shower realised (haha so lovely to share) all my underwear was dirty so i spent the morning washing and drying my clothes (while starting to reread twilight). i then went to the post office and sent some docs to my dad and a really shittily written post card to the kids at my old work.....seriously i should write the post cards before i go. I then hauled arse up Robson street where there is a bubble tea place (its a huge hike but so far its the closest one to where i am...ARGH!) as i was walking there i found the Chapters bookstore and nearly geeked out because the net had told me i would have to go over Graville Island and over the bridge to find a decent bookstore - LIES I TELL YOU! so yays - I bought New Moon....and very nearly bought 1) a big poster of Robert Patterson as Edward (where would i put it???) and 2) the soundtrack (how would i play it - i dont even have a laptop!). thankfully sense won out THIS time and i only bought the book.

i spent the rest of teh day reading and watching tv...somehow even though i staked out the tv room and kept checking the Discovery Channel - first episode of Salvage Code Red was supposed to be on last night but if it was i MISSED IT AND I AM VERY SAD!! can anyone tell me if it was definately on here in canada???? i soooo sad!!!

today has been slow - got up late (missed the free breakfast - good thing i have my own bread and WAHOO - NUTELLA!!!!!!!) so i finished rereading Twilight and have started on New Moon.

i really should start looking for work. i am such a bum!

anyways - wasnt taht update worth the effort of me writing it??? yeah - i agree - NOT AT ALL!! its mostly me fangirling over twilight with very little news!

So i didnt leave the hostel till after midday but i still managed to be somewhat productive today. I got my SIN thingy, i bought a book (havent spotted a bookstore ....well other than shonky adult ones ......so i found Twilight in a 'drugstore' - fangirls if it sucks you will die!!), bought a new bag (my handbag thingy didnt have a zip to close it and i was feeling paranoid carrying it around so i got a new one that does) and WOO i remembered to buy a box of tissues,

anyways nice girl (aussie - haha) staying in my room tonight - she has been in canada since july i think she said so i asked her some stuff.......again i dont recall us exchanging names...lols!

so.....yeah i have had a killer week eh? started off with a bang but then limped along after that! haha
am just tired a lot of the time....see tahts why i need a laptop - net junkie will then be on continual high from her interweb fixes!!

i miss my friends, the parentals, the pets, my computer and easyeay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

WOO!!! i saw my first ice hockey game last night. the Canucks against Colorado whatevers...... sorry colorado people - i didnt pay that much attention. poor Canucks lost....it came down to a shoot out type thingy and canucks JUST lost. so sad.

its so weird. okay i havent been to a live football match in a veeeeery long time in oz...but i am sure they dont do this - they actually stop the hockey game for commercial breaks....is that nuts or what????????????????????

aww it was so cute - between teh first and second period they had these tiny lil kids come out and play for a bit - it was sooooooo cute. i could actually follow the puck thingy!!!!!!! and they all kept falling over....damn it was sooooooooo cute!!!!!!!!!!

anyways today i went out and bought a phone to use here. i still havent hauled arse across the city to get my SIN number yet. i am such a bum.

all the chicks from my room have cleared off so i am on my own right now....though we had a temporary stayer last night who i didnt even see till she left this morn. i had booked myself in for a week and i have now paid up for another week so i dont have to worry about being made to change rooms sunday morn.

someone please give me some motivation to go get the SIN thingy and a bank account. if only i knew somewhere nearby taht does bubble tea - then i could reward myself if i do it...sadly the one place i have found is also a walk across the city.....NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there are waay too many aussies in this hostel - i dont feel like i am in canada really.

So I WIN!!!
i jokingly said back when i first decided on vancouver it was so i could stake out a Supernatural set to try and meet Jensen right? and i was joking.....but i was hopeful i might get to loiter near a set and maybe talk tosome crew.....not expecting to meet the guys or anything.

So anyways after i logged off i went to my room and one of teh aussie roomies said they were filming Supernatural across the st at the irish pub and they had been exploding smoke bombs and stuff... and i am all 'ARE YOU KIDDING???? THATS MY FAVOURITE SHOW!!" followed by some squeeing and me running out the door!

So i wandered over and there are all these vans and stuff and i was too shy to speak to anyone at that point. i took a few pics. but i didnt loiter because i felt weird.
I went to subway and bought dinner and went back to my room to eat it then i went back out and rocked over to the corner where the pub is. i worked up some courage and asked some guy if they were filming SON and he said yes and i asked where the guys inside and he was all 'i dont know anything about that' and wandered off. then a bit after that this noce looking chap looked at me and so i asked him if he was working on the stuff inside and he said yeah and i asked him what his job was and he said poduction assistant and i said thats cool. i cant remember if i said more to him then or later.....but later after they started packing up this other chick was with me and was asking him if he knew me and he said i was the aussie who had only been here a few days....so i told him at SOME point. i just dont recall when. ANYWAYS i am going too far into the future here...
so i notice these two girls standing at the corner and i realise they are SPN fangirls too! one is canadian and one was from new zealand and had been in the country four months. they had been there since 4pm. we ended up hanging for the duration and they were really nice.

some other crew peeps came and talked to us at various times and other not so hard core fans were loitering about too.

anyways we were there ages and when they finally called its a wrap we were all cameras out ready for teh boys and then the black SUV looking thing that was the boys transport - the driver started the engine and drove around the corner so we were walking down to where it was and tose lil BRATS ninja-skilled it over into the car before we could even take one picture......there were people and stuff in the way so i think i saw one of their legs ......GOD DAMNIT! so sad!!!

BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is the good bit!!!!! Jim Beaver who plays Bobby was shooting too and othe canadian girl had spoken to him earlier and so she went up to him and asked if the rest of us fangirlies could get a phptp ith him and he was super cool and friendly and chatted with us and stuff then he gave us each a big hug before he had to go. he was so nice.....damn i need to get my photos online so i can share!! i met Jim Beaver!! SO COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anyways the NZ and candian girl hd to leave 1) they were frozen and werent staying across the st like i was. heh
but i ended up loitering around with this other canadian chick who wants to get into directing and she was pestering this nice production assiatant girl. we then loitered and chatted and watched the guys packing up - she was the one who spoke to the PA guy i had spokem to originally. we got photos of this sign post thing they had put up.....the bar is supposed to be in Iowa somewhere according to the sign.

so WOO! cross one thing off the things to do in vancouver list - and it was ONLY MY SECOND DAY!!! i hadnt even been in the country 24 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOLY SHIT!!!

anyways after taht i was cold so i went back to my room and lay on my bed listening to the ipod. i kept dozing off so i changed into the pjs and went to sleep - sometime around 10pm. woke up at 6am on the dot this morn!!
got up and took advantage of the free brekkie they serve here then spent the next 3-4 hours rotting thr brain watching tv in the tv room. then had a sghower and got dressed. then watched a bit more tv. and now i am online.......cery shortly gonna go get some dinner. may or may not go to comedy night thing thats supposed to be on. i am kinda tired.

am craving easyway like you would not believe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So - I am in Canada!!! HOLY SHIT! SHEISSE!!!!!!! and various other surprised statements that involve excretment! :D

Hmm - just noticed the comp here has a lil usb thingy i could probably use to upload my pics to flickr but i didnt bring the usb connecter thingy down here so photos will have to wait till another day! not that i have many but some things definately require sharing!

I apologise for any typos on this post - i am typing fast and not checking the screen as i type. Deal with it till i am at leisure to use the web (like when i get a laptop and can sponge of the free wifi in the rooms here). till then please attempt to endure the typo pain.

So taiwan was an epic....entering canada was a breeze in comparison....let me tell you a story....

damn i dont wanna write it all out.....lets just say i wandered up and down the damn airport because there were 2 signs saying transfer and i went to the wrong area....then went through a security check point i shouldnt have (HAHA) accidently misplaced a bag and didnt realise till after i had finally figured out where to go and was on my way to going through immigration so had to go ALL the way back through the check point again so it all looked a bit dodgy.....then went through immigration and the customs thing....yay they didnt grab me to check my bags (poor guy 2 peeps ahead of me got grabbed). then couldnt see the hotel guy so had to get someone to page him.
so uh yeah - rebecca was stressed out and had been crying during the 'go through check point again' business. couldnt wait to get to hotel!

took me a good 10 mins to realise we were driving on the opposite side of the road. haha.
and dude that druve went FOREVER!!!! i started to suspect they were taking us somewhere to sacrifice us to the airline gods to keep their planes in the air!

turns out they were taking us to some swanky golf course...my room was huge!!! my bathroom had a fricking bath as well as a shower! it was ridiculous. they provided us free breakfast (which was okay but pretty minimal) and lunch (which was total shit and the only free drink was water and i loitered over my lunch to get three refills which will be explained shortly)>
so in the room we had a minibar fridge with 2 cans of coke, 2 bottle of mineral water, 2 things of pocari sweat and 2 things fo some other drink which you would have to pay for....i didnt want to use my credit card and i hadnt changed my money yet so was like 'how can i pay? - forget it!'.they had stuff to make a cup of tea and coffee but no milk. the only source of water was the tap....which i tried a sip of and it was MEGA metallic so i couldnt do it (and a girl i met later said there were signs saying dont drink the tap water but i must have missed them). so we were in taht place for 24 hours and FUCKING HELL I WAS SOOO DAMN THIRSTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dude i can do without food - i CAN NOT do without drinks! omgawd by the time we got back to the airport i was dying!

anyways so yeah wen we first got there they offered us this free half day tour and at the time i said yes, but when i got up for breakfast i cancelled because 1) it was raining and 2) you had to check out early and go back to the airporta nd they took you onthe tour from there and there was no info to tell you what they were gonna do with your bags,,,,,,so i was concerned. so instead i lazed around my room all day. slept a bit.

anyways two fo the peeps who came back to the hotel (there were about 10 in total) were also going to vancouver so we hung out at the airport when we got back. i didnt get either of their names but the guy is actually here in this hostel....i need to track him down actually because he paid for the cab for us from the airport to here and i need to pay him back half the fare. the girl was heading off to jasper to work as a snowboard instructor. she said she was going to have to get up at 5am today to go on a 12 hour bus ride (longer than the plane ride from taipei to vancouver) to get there.....and then she would have to start working the very next morning!!!!!!! OMGAWD!!!!!!!!!

anyways so immigration at canada was a breeze - the line was just super slow! but yeah - not a drama at all! just show em your docs, they ask a few questions. they stamp some stuff and stick your visa thing in your passport and voila - you're in.

i dunno why - but maybe i missed it or maybe because they guy i was with (who was carting 2 surfboards) had so much stuff - i didnt see anywhere where they stop you to check your suitcases or signs saying 'nothing to declare' or whatever.....did i juts miss it or dont they have that here?????

anyways got to hotel. check in was a breeze. went to my room....eyes bug out. fucking clothes EVERYWHERE...dude you gotta see the pictures!!! and it had that odour of clothes in need of a wash - you know the one. yeah - boys let me tell you - girls are not lovely clean and tidy things - i promise you - we be GROTTY BITCHES!!!!!
but at least i dont leave my dirty laundry laying everywhere....omgawd.

anyways i had a shower because damn i was feeling grotty, then went out - chick at the hostel counter said 'grocery store is about a block that way' i walk 'that way' and i went MORE than a block....no grocery store......maybe it was the other way - maybe she is on drugs. anyways i found a 7eleven and bought 2 bottles of coke (591 mls people - what the fuck is that??? not even a round number?????????????) and some kinda roll and a thingo of watermelon chunks and walked back to the hostel. ate the roll and drank some coke and went to sleep.

this morn i got up after much loitering in bed and walked down granville st (my hostel is located on granville) and went to robson st - i knew there was a Lush there - i was out of American Cream just before i left home plus i needed soap - they had Alkmar!!! (or how ever its spelt) i havent seen taht in oz FOR AGES!!!!!!!!!!!
i then headed to the skytrain (umm hello - its called skytrain but the granvile station...you go DOWN DOWN DOWN to get to it...not so sky-ish!) and caught the train to the Statium/Chinatown stop. wandered pretty much the length of chinatown. i found a place that made bubble tea (is also a clothes show) and bought their version of green apple green tea......looked more like nuclear waste or something!! :D was drinkable but VERY sweet....and the apple is sorta like those toffee apple lollies you can get in oz. so not that appley really. heh.
ithen made my way back to the hostel. when i got here my legs were kinda sore so i vegged out in the tv room for a while. watched some jerry springer. hehe. talked to an aussie chick a bit. a bunch of other folks came in including the two aussie chicks staying in my room (who are soon leaving).
anyways got bored and figured it was time i figured out the net set up here for those chumps without a laptop to sponge off the wifi - and voila here i am!!!

anyways i am mega hungry so i am gonna sign off soon. there is supposed to be a pub crawl tonight (i think they do it every monday) but tonight is supposed to be big because tomo is a public holiday. havent decided if i wanna go because - hey - I DONT DRINK ZEE ALCOHOLS!!!!!! but we will see.....

Unless I go on a procrastinating frenzy to avoid finishing packing my suitcase later tonight, this could be my last post from Australia for a while.
Tomorrow I leave the country! WOOHOO!!!

Originally i was flying to Taipei and would have been there 4-5 hours and then would catch the connecting flight to Vancouver (and haha - would have landed in Vancouver the same day I left Australia date wise.....crazy timezones!), but the connecting flight for tomorrow got cancelled so my travel agent lady advised me that when I get to Taipei I am supposed to got to the transit stand???? and the airline has suppoedly arranged for a hotel for the night for moi and i assume any other folks affected. My flight out of Taipei is still at the same time of night the next day so i will be there for more than 24 hours. I wonder if there is much I can do while i am there...

SO yeah -now I will arrive in Canada Sunday evening instead of Saturday evening. Not sure when I will get online next. I dont have a laptop (yet - will be first purchase after i have job and a place to live i think) so will be relying on nt cafes and stuff for a while.
Which reminds me - need to redirect all my email accounts through Gmail tonight.

So yeah - umm - i am working very hard on not freaking out! :D
I just keep telling myself it will be fine...that whatever i need to do to get settled will work out fine (even with no family or close friends there to back me up). And if it all goes to shit - I can make sure I have AU$100 minimum in my bank account to change the return flight to an earlier date if I have to!

I really need to pack the rest fo the stuff in my suitcase. and move stuff onto my external hard drive so i have my important files handy when i finally get the laptop. And fiish cleaning the room.

But right now.....i feel like napping! haha

OH MY GAH!!! i keep forgetting - the greatest drink chain on earth is originally from taiwan!! I LOVE YOU EASYWAY!!! i hope there is an easyway outlet near the hotel! WOO!

So am leaving oz on saturday!!
I will be staying one night in Taiwan because the airline cancelled the connecting flight saturday night so they are putting me up for a night ina hotel. My flight on to vancouver isnt till 11pm Sunday night so who knows what i am gonna do in Taipei for a day. :D
But yeah when i arrive in Vancouver it will still be sunday evening. haha awesome.
i cant believe its almost time to go. am a wee bit nervous.

Anyways its 2:24am and i am up because i need to work on my resume so I can take it in and get our recruitment lady to look it over and give me some advice if its any good. of course instead of working on it i am procrastinating. :D

Its Melbourne Cup Day today so later this arvo at work we will be stopping for office silliness and drinks and food. and the 4th......wow - it'll be the 5th here in oz before we start getting news on who might be winning the US election....but its gonna be interesting!

So at work we get lotsa magazines. Umm if I shared more about my job you would know why...haha - but I wont. 1) because talking too much about your work on your personal blog is kinda stupid and 2) my last day is November 6! OMGAWD!!!!

Anyways so one of the mags that crossed my desk in the last few days is Kids Discover ...its this cute kids mag explaining things in the world and what not.

Anyways - vol 18 #9 Sept 2008 issue is entitled the Presidency. :D
Now oz doesnt have a president and they dont teach us about how the US system works in aussie schools, of course, so i thought i would have a quick read because these things do interest me.
