I really need to do a post about my latest obsessions because damn this site is behind the times….but I have been wanting to share this every where and finally the video is on a site that i know how to embed from lol.
A little explanation is needed. Some time during the aussie lockdown that happened march/april I started watching The Untamed on Netflix. Its a 50+ episode chinese fantasy series and its beautiful. While it had to keep it tame for chinese censors the main characters Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji are in love. You KNOW I ship it fools.
The original novel its based on is called Mo Dao Zu Shi by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu which I have now read a fan translation of (and am reading translations of their other works). There is a manhua (manga) that is still updating, an donghua (anime) and currently episodes are being released of a chibi-donghua which is so fricking cute!
I AM OBSESSED AND HAVE SPENT HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS ON LEGIT MERCHANDISE FROM CHINA! I will share pics and maybe vids later – i have posted them on insta so if the auto add thing is still working I should be able to just edit the draft posts later. 😀
ANYWAY – The shared video is a little story done by cosplayers about the character Jiang Cheng – the adopted brother of Wei Wuxian. You briefly see Wei Wuxian in the video – he is the character in black and red clothes.
Even though I dont understand the chinese and there are currently no english subtitles – when I saw this video on weibo the first time (link here) I cried because I was so sad for Jiang Cheng. He lost all the people he loved.
There are people who dont like Jiang Cheng and think he’s a bad guy, and when you first meet him yeah he’s a jerk, but the story shows he has reasons so I can undestand his bad attitude.
The cosplayers and the people who directed/edited this did an amazing job. I just want every one to see it! 😀
