I just installed WordPress.
I shall now endeavor to break my site by fiddling around to get my old blog layout and perhaps upload all my old blogger posts here. Wish me luck!
[edit] Many hours later. FOR GODS SAKE!!!
So I am getting error message any time i try to upload an image be it to media or for the header.
I get one of two messgaes depending on how I have changed the settings:
“earthnmoon.jpg” has failed to upload due to an error
Unable to create directory [path]/wp-content/uploads. Is its parent directory writable by the server?
“earthnmoon.jpg” has failed to upload due to an error
The uploaded file could not be moved to [path]/wp-content/uploads.
I have tried every variable suggested that you can do via ftp, on the dashboard itself or manually fiddling with the paths on the database and the ONLY thing that works – which I only changed temporarily to test it – was to CHMOD the directory to 777. GAH!
So anyways – i am now tired and cranky so i shall go to bed. Hopefully I shall find a fix tomo night.
