Anyhow – I finally watched my Big Blue DVD last night. I cant believe the stuff that was cut out – I always thought of all of Luc Besson’s film the BB was kind of the weakest. It didnt really go anywhere and there was some character development – it was lovely to watch and I loved all the characters, but it certainly was no Leon or Nikita. Anyways – seeing the full thing is sooooooo much better. There are just small little moments in some parts, and then whole scenes – like when they sleep together for the first time and then he goes outside and swims with the dolphin all night and she gets huffy and returns to New York – that give the film a whole new feel to it! Amazing.
It’s kind of like the same feeling I had after seeing the directors cut of Leon (aka the Professional). I always knew that would be awsome, and it was. That is such a beautiful film. I hope that the directors cut will be released here in oz on DVD soon.
