Whitney Houston

When I got home after being to the movies I read the sad news about Whitney Houston. It must have been announced just after I left the house.

I always hoped Whitney would be able to get back on the right track and have a long life. I am so sad it hasnt happened. Her poor daughter, and the rest of her family. I just want to cry.

Its probably not cool but I honestly dont care. I have been a fan of Whitney since I was a kid. She was one of the artists who was big when I first started getting into popular music on my own (as opposed to whatever stuff my parents chose to listen to).

Her 80s stuff is still my favourite era.
I went through major obsessions loving these songs as a kid:

(gawd me and my friends need to do a Whitney karaoke day…once i can get past the urge to cry when i hear ANY of her songs right now).

I fell in love with these songs years later:

And man this song was at number one forever in Australia but i still loved it but I cant even listen to it today. Give it a try…see if you start sobbing or not…I cant even hear the opening bars…

RIP Whitney. Your amazing voice may have been lost years ago but you could have done so much as a producer of new talent or something along those lines. I am so sad you are gone.
