Living through historical events….

For obvious reasons there is lots of stuff on tv about September 11. I was just looking at my blog posts from that time…

My first post at 11:55pm on sept 11 (aussie time) –

i was watching channel 9 news before and the guy said that a plane had flown iinto the World Trade Centre- i ran out to see if the parents were awake to tell them because i was horrified but mum was already in the loungeroom watching foxtel and told me a second plane had flown into the other building. we just sat there going FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!!!!!!!!! and then just as i booted up the computer they reported the Pentagon was on fire.
jesus.

and 15 mins later:

man – the building just collapsed. fuck.

and this is from a couple of days later:

**pics posted**
just some different pictures to look at because if i see the pictures/film of the planes crashing into the buildings or the buildings collapsing one more time right now i am gonna start balling. most of yesterday at work i didnt have to see anything much apart from at morning tea when they had the tv on in the tea room and we all got to see President Bush’s speech, but when i got home every station was airing stuff from America. i really hated it when they would show a series of pieces together – shots of the planes hitting the buildings, sounds of people screaming, shots of people jumping out of the buildings, shots of the first building collapsing, then the next – all one after the other….do they think the more they show it the quicker people will be desensitised to it? because it isnt FUCKING WORKING!!!!!!

I still cry when i see montages like that.

I am watching something about the firefighters who went to help and the guys are in the foyer and hearing the sounds of the bodies of the people who jumped crashing into cars and stuff. Omgawd….thats just sickening..seriously!

It is interesting to see some different perspectives on things – like last night I saw about half of a doco about the problems with communications between the FAA and the military and it also mentioned how there were big probs with the communications that day between the White House and the president.

I dont have a lot to say really – its something horrible that happened…and I remember sitting up that night watching the news streaming with my mum and just being stunned at everything that happened.
I wish I could believe that something as equally horrible wont happen again in my lifetime.
