I stayed up and saw the announcement on tv – was excited for about a minute, and then went back to bed. I remember people from my school had gone down to some big gathering in the city that I think they would have shown around the world when it was announced that we had got the Olympics and I recall thinking “why the hell would you go to something like that for christs sake?”
Plus – having gone to this thing – as Ii recall the announcement was in the wee hours of the morn – the idiots who went then came to school that morning! What weirdos! I would have used it as the perfect opportunity to bludge off school for a day! 🙂

Okay – so I live in Sydney, I am not a big fan of sport in general, so for me this is cool news! 🙂 And it will certainly piss of SOCOG! LOL!
