I will probably forget some details…in fact i know i have already…but i will do my best. <\/p>\n
Thursday:<\/i>
\nGot in at 9am (train was a bit late because of signal failures…supposedy we were at Albury for an hour….i think i was awake for the last 10 mins). anyways i caught a cab to the hotel and they let me check in straight away.
\ni had a whole morning to fill so i wandered up to Queen Victoria Markets which you could see from my hotel window (i took a photo and everything! HEE!). bought some stuff…including a shirt like my sisters ‘fuck you i have enough friends’ one. YAY!
\ncame back and met up with Suz from Bris-Vegas and i cant recall if we went with anyone else but we wandered down to Minotaur to meet up with some people Suz knew. they went off to meet some other<\/i> people so i wandered over to Myer to wait for my friend Nicole. while i was there i went into Myer and got a shirt and some knee-high boots that had already been reduced and were 50% off the marked price….go the bargains!
\nThen met up with Nick and she looked AWESOME!
\nWe went for coffee and talked for ages. i am a loser i know but it was just so good to see her and talk to her. i was nervous before hand but i instantly felt comfortable the minute we hugged. i have missed her SOOOOOO much!
\nthen we wandered down an alleyway somewhere and went into a shop called Toxic that had loads of overpriced but groovy stuff. we were both in agreement that the 80s are SOOOO back! ^o^
\nwe then went down to Crown and went into a bar called Barcode and played on the games in there a bit. i seemed to be quite good at the shooting games without really trying. suspect i may have been an assassin in a former life. quite pleased with this supposition.
\nwe then went and wandered trying to find some restaurant Nicole knew but she couldnt remember where it was so we went in this japanese place called gigi (i think). was okay…and my lame chopstick skills did not fail me! WOO! then nick went home and i went back to the hotel and met sweetxia for the first time. hee! <\/p>\n
Friday:<\/i>
\nstayed in bed till after sweetxia left to meet some friends (this was mid afternoon people!! OOPS!!) then got up and had a shower. went and annoyed Suz for a while in her room who was practising her cosplay skit with her fellow skit players. the adeladian chaps were making a hell of a lot of noise so Suz started banging on the wall and one of the guys who Suz and i had chatted with the day before came and said hi and then we all went and annoyed the Adelaidians….when i first saw Mitchell i asked him if he was cosplaying as Harry Potter….hee i totally cracked myself up!
\nthen the guys were talking and suz and her friends were talking but neither group was talking to each other and i was just listening and the guy who came and got us said to teh rest of the guys ‘so does this mean i win the pick-up award?” which i thought was most amusing. sadly the answer was no. HEE!
\nthen another girl poked her head out of her room down the hall.i forget her name but she was cool. we went and chatted with her and were most crushed to find out her boyfriend had cosplayed as Mister K at Supanova but wasnt going to do it at Manifest… DENIED!!!!!!!!
\nwe went back to Suz’s room for a bit and talked and then went off to the uni to pick up out Manifest passes, met Jaynes friend Karen for the first time.
\nwhile there the tama-kids were setting up and i stuck my head in the door – they had 4 Kanon posters on teh wall. i nearly cried! I WANTED 3 of them SO BAD!! (i didnt want the Nayuki one) anyways i tore myself away and we left, had dinner and headed back to the hotel to get ready for Lychnobyte.
\nbefore we left we went down to the hotel theatre that had been reserved for us manifestians….and we watched 2 episodes of Yami no Matsue….i officially want to see all of this now!!!!!!!!1
\nwe walked to the club and waited out in the rain for about 10 mins till they let us in.
\nwatched a bit of crappy anime then went upstairs and listened to some music. talked to Brad (reset0s drummer) for a bit. wandered downstairs and when i went in they were playing Malice Mizers Illuminati…..i got all excited and ran to the dancefloor and started bopping..no one else was…i mean HOW CAN YOU STOP YOURSELF??? that song goes off!! then Gackts Another World came on and i just kept going…more people started dancing then. then Vanilla (WOO!) and then i think the last song before reset0 started was another Malice Mizer song…it wasnt one i knew..
\nthen Reset0 came on and they rocked so much. i sat at the front near Toshi and took LOADS of photos!
\ni like the fact that i have seen them a few times now so i can sing along a bit in choruses of their original songs! \ud83d\ude00
\nafterwards i accosted andy so i could get a pic of him with his precious Eve. i think he said he only got it that afternoon. ^o^
\nanyways – after they finished the club emptied of manifest peeps petty fast and started filling with goths. i saw Joey, Yuki, Sly and Waffles for a bit but then me and Suz and a few others left and went back to the hotel to sleep.<\/p>\n
Saturday:<\/i>
\nso rocked up to manifest. wanted to squee loudly when i saw A-chan dressed up as the manifest mascot but i contained the enthusiasm! ^o^
\nmarched into the tamarket room and bought the three Kanon posters – i am the proud owner of posters of Mai, Shiori and Makoto!
\nthere were some really awesome cosplayers around. my faves from saturday (some also wore the same thing sunday too) were Emily from adelaides moogle outfit (she didnt stay in it long because it was COOOLD!), Shuichi by the girl who did Ash and Syaoran Li in previous years, Shia from Pita Ten (AWW I SO WANNA COSPLAY HER!), Edea from ffviii!!! (HELLA AWESOME – probably my very favourite!!) and Joeys gothic lolita outfit – actually bought in Harajuku no less – THE JEALOUSY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
\nthe only anime i watched was Gunslinger Girl. also watched the cosplay comp and half of the anime idol heats.<\/p>\n
anyways towards the evening i was wandering back to the main building when i saw Andy and stopped to interrogate him because he said he wasnt coming. he then insisted i go along with his friends to dinner but we had to wait around for everyone so i sat up the back of the trivia being bored out of my mind…thank god for mixed tape of DA family music…i may have started killing people otherwise.
\nanyways – dinner was fun, we went to a pizza place…family started sending me embarrassing txt msgs asking how i was… T.T;;;
\nthe A-man gave me a lift back to Franklin because it was raining. what a champion!<\/p>\n
Sunday:<\/i>
\nwatched some anime in the morning. i forget the name of the first one i watched but they also had the first ep of Le Portrait de Petit Cossette. i wanted to see it….some visual stuff was cool but i didnt fall in love with it. \ud83d\ude41
\nwandered around taking photos of cosplayers.
\nthere were a couple of ffvii Aeris’ but Adeladian Emilys was the coolest – she had both a staff and a basket of flowers (got pics with both). there was a totally cute Misha from Pita Ten, Annies Go Go Yubari…eer and some others.
\nsat with my friend Craig through the actual cosplay event on sunday. it was a lot funnier than saturday. very entertaining.
\nwent to 2 panels – the Craig Norris panel….eer make that the Anime Dreaming one and the Yaoi panel (the amount of guys that show up always amuses me…but it was a good panel).
\nthen went and watched the closing ceremony and the Anime Idol finals. sat with Joey, Yuki, Waffles, Nick and other people me wee brain cant recall names of (SORRY!!!!!!!!!!!) and cheered on their friend Vicki. she was awesome and came second. the girl who won was really great too and looked so shocked that she had won!! \ud83d\ude00
\nwe then watched some of the karaoke and we all cheered sweetxia on when she did Eyes on Me – she was awesome! and i love that song!!!! ^o^
\nanyways..after that Andy, the social co-ordinator of melbourne, got ANOTHER group of people together for dinner and off we went AGAIN. to ANOTHER pizza place! we had more people this time and i knew more of them so i didnt feel too out of place.
\ni had 3 slices of pizza though and was full. >.<
\nanyways as we headed back i was asking the A-man about this leather belt thingy he had. he had offered to make me one and his friend Han offered to go with me the next day to buy the stuff needed…so yay – i had something to do on monday!<\/p>\n
Monday:<\/i>
\nsaid bye to sweetxia really early because she had to leave for the train. dragged myself out of bed sometime after 8 to pack all my junk up. went out to 7eleven to buy a drink. came back, finished packing then went down stairs and checked out and put my bags into some lockers and went and met up with Han.
\nwe went via train to some street (was it Chappel street?) and went in this shop that jayne would have DIED in ( beads man – loads of beads!) to buy the leather and the clip things. then we wandered and looked in some other shops around there before tramming it back to the cbd. we went to lots of shops that had dvds and manga but i resisted all things until evil evil Han took me to this lil shop inside some building that had a small section behind the counter with japanese cds….i could not resist buying Gackts Crescent cd. and then we went to another shop in some arcade called Honya that sells second hand japanese books with a shelf of second hand japanese cds…i spent just over $100 there!!! >.< EVIL I TELL YOU!!!!!!!!!!1
\nwe wandered aronud a little more and then Han went home…in dire need of sleep.<\/p>\n
i went to maccas and then wandered around a bit but my feet got sore really fast so i went back to the hotel and sat in the foyer and finished reading Across the Nightingale Floor. then i got my stuff and caught a cab to the station….had fun wandering around trying to figure out where i had to go to check in my luggage…then went and got on the train and tried to sleep.<\/p>\n
