i was going to give a long inspired rant about the whole refugees on Tampa saga the other day but i never did. needless to say the whole thing shits me. i think the only people in australia who have the right to be annoyed with refugees coming into the country are Aboriginals. the rest of us are all just interlopers. i was rather pissed about some poll that was done saying that australians approved what Howard did. well those dickheads didnt ask me did they?<\/p>\n
anyways the way refugess get treated in this country is something the pisses me off continually. for one thing – they could at least make the accomodation at the places they keep them at till they are processed somewhat better – they are not criminals, the only thing they have done wrong is enter australian territorial waters without a visa or whatever you need to get into this country. and its not like they are planning to enter the country and disappear – i doubt mny refugee boats get into our waters without being seen, so these people are willing to be stuck in some suckful internment camp for however fucking long it takes australian immigration to process them. god – it took them over a year to process my best friends husbands stuff and he did the right thing and when his visa ran out went back to his old country and waited for them to get to it.<\/p>\n
