I decided to branch out a little more in my movie watching on crunchyroll. I loved Zhou Xun in Perhaps Love so I decided to look for some of her other films. I just watched Ming Ming.

Zhou Xun plays two characters in the film. Ming Ming will do anything to get what she wants. She has a talent with taking people out with these black beads (that - haha - I thought were blackberries when i first saw them so was momentarily baffled by what she was doing - lols). Nana is a girl who looks just like her. They are both in love with the same guy - D.
Ming Ming goes to a guy she works for - Brother Cat - and asks him for $5 million dollars...he agrees but something happens and she has to go ballistic with the beads and as she buggers off takes a box sitting on the table in from of Brother Cat. He aint happy and sends his goons after her.
As she runs off she meets up with a guy working with her, Tu, and hands him the bag of cash, while keeping the box, and they split up again. Tus main talent is he can run fast. :D
Ming Ming as she runs away bumps into a girl who looks just like her - this is Nana. Tu then also see the girl, and thinking it is Ming Ming, grabs her hand and drags her along with him.

They all manage to get away and Tu takes Nana with him. Ming Ming has told the people Tu will contact to refer to the other girl as Ming Ming and to tell Tu to head to Shanghai, where D is.

So they are all off to Shanghai and Nana questions Tu about what he knows about her (meaning Ming Ming), so she finds out that Ming Ming is also in love with the same guy she is.


Now I cant tell you more because it would give away the story too much, but there is a few lil twists and I was stoked I figured out the main one well before it was revealed. Reading the comments on crunchyroll it seems some people were mighty confused. Idiots!

Anyway, the only thing about this movie that was negative was some of the editing was a bit annoying. If would fade to black and then come back to the same scene...maybe to give you a sense of time passing or something - but they did it like 3 or 4 times in a row - it got really annoying! or near the start during one of the fights it kept showing this fake blood smearing across the entiire screen...it was just annoying!
I read on other sites it was a movie directorial debut for someone who usually directs for MTV so thats maybe why it had these annoying moments, but if you can get past that - over all it was a good film. And i liked Tu and Nana - i wanna squish them with LOVE! :D

Its funny - I actually thought the guy who played Tu would be a perfect Nobu for the anime/manga Nana. He just had that endearing quality. awwww

Okay - my nihongo is crap so I had no idea what they were singing about, but when I saw this video a few years back I fell in love with the song and have always wanted to see the movie thinking it would be totally made of crack or something!



Crunchyroll has it and so I FINALLY got to see it! And while it is a weird and kooky film and sometimes funny, its really quite sad. I was surprised.
The main characters are all a bit messed up but you just gotta love them.

But woo - I HAVE SEEN IT! Damn crunchyroll is awesome sometimes!

Just watched the film Returner (yes - another Takeshi film). In some parts you have to work on the suspension of disbelief because its kinda dorky, but the sfx were cool. And I recommend Takeshi takes up wearing leather and shooting guns on a permanent basis - he looked so cool! mwhahahaha
The girl in it was a good lil actress too....BUT OMGAWD - her character is from the future and they show this bit of her just before she comes back and the acting by some of the people in it (all english speaking) is ATROCIOUS!!!!! It adds a great comedy element to the film though! LOL!

So yeah - plot holes galore but its still enjoyable.
When I have money again that doesnt have to go into savings I will probably buy it.

TOTAL FAIL!!!!!!!!!
I have not shared my love for Hairspray!!!!!

Even before I saw it I was listening to the soundtrack and there were some songs I just LOVED and was listening to over and over...so the first time I saw it I went by myself and I was sitting in the cinema boogying and singing along with my fave songs!!! I HAVE NO SHAME!!!
I have seen it a total of 3 times and am going to try and go to one of the sing-a-long versions which only just started playing in Australia.

People its fricking awesome and you MUST go see it!!!!!!!!!
I absolutely adore lil Nikki Blonsky! She totally rocked!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the song I Can Hear The Bells - even before i saw it - the line where she sings

"My mother starts to cry,
but I can't see 'cause Link and i
Are french kissin'"

I would giggle because it was so cute....so in the film as she sings that and Link LICKS HIS HAND - first time I saw it I TOTALLY cracked it!!!!!1 He looked really into licking himself people - IT WAS FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah - lil Zac Efron was cool in it. I am not a ZEfron fangirl or anything - but boy you did good. I like the kid who played Seaweed better - could that kid dance or what??? During Run and Tell That? OMGAWD!!!!!!!!! <333333333333333

But I have to say - what the hell was with listing Nikki Blonsky so far down in the credits when she is the fricking main character? I get that the movie exec dudes like to have big names up high in the promo stuff to get people to come see it when they normally might not show any interest if not for a fave star being in the film....but this was totally ridiculous!!!
