omgawd. so i havent posted anything since november 20. thats ridiculous! there is so much, yet really SO little to share.

MAJOR NEWS - i am back in australia already - i ran out of money GODDAMNIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anyways heres a run down of what happened snce my last post.
most stuff will have no dates but the first thing i remember because it was the day after my last post and two major things happened that day!

~november 21 - saw twilight. thought it was epic cheese...even moreso than the books. this did not stop me from going to see it 2 more times though. haha.
when i got back from the movies i went online to see if i could get tickets to the Lady Gaga show that night downtown. she was opening for New Kids on the Block but later in the evening doing her own headlining gig. anyways her show was sold out so i was checking online to seei f there were tix for New Kids. there were....so i got off my ass and hauled arse IN THE FUCKING RAIN down to GM Place and bought a ticket - on the right side, pretty decent distance from the stage. a BILLION times better than the tix i got for new kids when i was 14! :D
anyways i then had to wait for another 2 hours before the doors opened. i was quite damp.
lady gaga was AWESOME but if she was on teh stage longer than 20 mins....well it didnt FEEL like it - her set was over so fast! then natasha bedingfield or whatever her name is came on and she was on FOREVER...........BLARGH!
finally the boys came out and i screamed my fucking lungs out for the entire show....yes i was channelling my 12=14 year old self! :D i didnt know ANY of the new songs though. haha

anyways surprise surprise i got a sore throat which developed into a full on cold for the next week.
also during that week met cute spanish guy who went up north to be a chef and make big dollars in teh oil fields for a few months, saw twilight again, read the rest of the Twilight series. became full on fangirl.
dates are all vague from here on. things are in order but not sure when exactly they happened.

~also became obsessed with Dr Horribles sing-a-long blog
~Jacob became my fave Twilight character
~changed hostels around teh end of nov/start of dec.
~went to the Capilano Suspension Bridge. took lots of pics.
~IT SNOWED. i was ecstatic.
~but then it didnt STOP SNOWING.....icy sidewalks are not my friend!
~went to a place called Brackendale to see american bald eagles. took many photos. also went to shannon falls where i fell on my ass (nice one eh?) and this place that has bunnies come out that you can feed. normally there are like hundreds??? we saw four. :D took some weet photos though!
~more snow.
~registered at a temp agency
~saw twilight again and the movie bolt in 3-D(very cute)
~went xmas shopping for peeps i was gonna see at xmas - fell on ass in the snow again
~went to vancouver island for xmas. ferry was cool. sisters friend and her family were wonderful! had eggnog for the first time! had proper turkey xmas dinner. HAD VERY FIRST WHITE CHRISTMAS BITCHES! AWWWWYEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
~went back to vancouver. bottle of sprite leaked in my handbag and KILLED MY FRICKING CAMERA - no more photos!
~more snow!
~ran out of money.
~flew home.
trip home was epic. 13 hour flight to taipei - 15 hour LAYOVER IN TAIPEI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 then another 9 hours to syd. fucking hell. first flight and the layover - i slept maybe a total of 2 and a half hours. i was dying by the time we boarded the flight for syd!
i had called the airline sometime before new years and they put me on a waiting list for the 3rd and teh 6th. the third they could get me on the flight from taipei to syd but not van to taipei, and the 6th was the other way - could get on a flight from van to taipei but not yet for taipei to syd.
anyways they called me early in the arvo on the 3rd saying i would have to go to the airport that night and go on standby.....but then they called me a couple of hours later and told me it was all good - i had a seat for both flights and i didnt have to be on standby. i was soooooo happy. i didnt want to haul arse to the airport only to have to haul arse BACK to the hostel.

anyways when i changed hostels i got into a bad habit of sleeping in heaps (probably why i failed to get a job - though around teh time i registered at the agency i applied for a heap of jobs) and then going out and getting food in the evening. i usually only had one meal a day. i found this japanese place and they made THE BEST GYOZA EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i would usually go in there and just get the gyoza...though sometimes i bought other stuff. if i wasnt eating gyoza i was eating kfc for dinner. i have never eaten so much kfc in my life!

anyways so got home last week on monday.
on thursday we went down the coast to se my aunty for a few days. my cousin bill and his wife just had another baby a few days before so i got to have a cuddle. hes soooo cute!

so yeah - THE PLAN is to get a job and save money and GO BACK TO CANADIA ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!! and this time make a serious effort to find a fricking job. at least i dont have to worry about registering for a SIN and all that - its all done!

oh and SOOOOO funny (NOT!)! a job that i applied for even before registering at the temp agency contacted me at the end of last week to ask if i wanted to come in for an interview.....i totally lost it man! i was cackling like a maniac
it sounded like an awesome job too- if only they had contacted me sooner i could have stayed!
WAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anyways so now you are all updated. i still havent uploaded photos yet - i am being mega lazy. i am not looking forward to the resize before uploading thing i always do - there are a LOT of photos. haha but as soon as i do i will definately share on here. i only saw a tiny lil bit of canada and it was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dayamn!! Rebecca could never afford to go there but just LOOK at that place. I mean just for all the helicopter rides alone I would LOVE IT!! Then all the flying about the wilderness stuff. maaaaaaan.

The bear wandered into Whistler's Village Square, a popular site for tourists and locals, to look for food in garbage tins on Saturday.
"A crowd had gathered around the bear and was taking pictures," Sylvia Dolson, of the Get Bear Smart Society, told Vancouver's The Province newspaper.
"The fellow was in the way when the bear wanted to escape.
"He kind of got snagged."

They actually killed the bear in question. Ummm.....riiiiiight.
I'd just like to say to Canada if I get scratched up by a bear because I am a dumb arse please dont kill mr bear. kthxbai!

So I have been so adept at keeping this secret I keep forgetting to share where I should now that its out and I have told the boss! I am off to Canada at the start of November!

I applied for their Working Holiday Visa in feb and was approved (I only just qualified age-wise....getting old sucks!). I have a year from the date on the letter I got to enter the country.
As we all know Rebecca sucks at saving money! I have bought 2 dolls in that time and wasted copius amounts on food and many other unnecessary things! I had it all planned out though that I would have enough money by the time i went, but now I have to get 2 teeth pulled out before I go and its gonna cost more than I expected (I dont have private cover so i gotta pay the full price) so I am gonna have to do something else to scrounge together $2000 before i leave. ARGH!
Anyone wanna buy a kidney?

Its a bit nerve-racking. I have never lived more than 40 mins away from relatives who can come rescue me if there are dramas. Sorry beck - there is a whole ocean between you and the nearest relative!

But yeah - I am a bit excited and a bit nervous.....though right now I feel more nervous about the teeth getting pulled. One is a wisdom tooth.

I logged onto Blogger to post some tourism links I found but then started writing a post about why Canada? why Vancouver? because I know my friends think I am going only because Jensen Ackles makes a show there, and thats only the smallest reason WHY I am going. BUT I want this to be about the tourism links I found so i will save that other ramble fest till another time.

So yeah - my interest in Canada in the past has been more on the eastern side (I have had online friends based in Toronto, Firda lives ina places called Waterloo in Ontario, I am the biggest geek for the Anne of Green Gables series so Prince Edward Island is like 'OMGAWD I HAVE TO GO THERE ONE DAY!!!' :D
But when I decided 'YAY I go to Canada' there WAS a small bit of 'ooh tv shows i like i made there' but a bunch of things I would like to visit in the US are on the West Coast (the main exceptions that I want to visit are New York and New Orleans) so I figured if I am gonna choose a major Canadian city to base myself Vancouver would be the better choice.

I know very little about Vancouver...well I did - I HAVE been researching (yay they have public transport which I need because i cant drive). And there is a lot more I need to research about how things work in Canada, but today I decided to look up things to do in Vancouver because I am inherently lazy and will probably most of the time be too lazy (or broke - haha) to make an effort to leave the city, so I am looking for things I can check out near there.

Anyways I found a site called Canada.Travel and I went to the lil page about Vancouver and it had a list of 10 tourist attractions. I checked out all the links and the last one is the Capilano Suspension Bridge (which OMGAWD LOOKS SO AWESOME even though I get major vertigo with heights + movement). It had a link to a page to preview what its like to visit and the page has a bunch of videos of other tourist attractions in and around Vancouver. The guys in the vids is a completely annoying prat but I now have a bunch more places I wanna visit! WOO!

~ Capilano Suspension Bridge (OH MY GOD!!! AWESOME!)
~ Burnaby Village Museum - its like Sovereign Hill in Victoria! I LOVE FAKE HISTORIC TOWNS! HISTORY GEEK-OUT!!!
~ Grouse Mountain - the vid shows stuff you can do in summer which is what I would like to do, but right now their website is showing the winter stuff. I guess I should try skiing or snowboarding or something when I go eh? I do LOVE cold weather!
~ Hells Gate Airtram - cooool!
~Minter Gardens - omgawd so pretty! Maybe take one of the dolls there for a photo shoot?
~ Vancouver Aquarium - beluga whales? cute Sea Otters? OMGAWD I WANNA SEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just found Tourism Vancouver which I am having a poke around.
I need to do a lot more research yo. If anyone knows any places in or near Vancouver I MUST visit let me know!

Umm - yeah and I only realised the other week that Vancouver is holding an Olympics in 2010...so I am heading for a city in Olympic prep...why do I do these things to myself?? ARGH!

Did I tell you chumps I was applying for the Working Holiday Program that Canada has with Australia? Well if I didnt - well I did! HAhA!

And yesterday I got my Letter of Introduction email! OMGAWD!!!!!!!!1 I was so excited. I mean there were no grounds that I could be told to bugger off over, but still I may be Miss 'happy happy see the glass half full' girl but i still sometimes WORRY and so I wasnt gonna get excited till I got it...AND NOW I DO!!

Now next step is to save a shit load of money. I need $4000 in the bank before i go, i need a plane ticket AND i want a laptop before I go. So yeah - no more dolls I guess! HAHA!!

Anyways the program (obviously from the name) means I can go over there and live and work while trying to see as much of the country as possible. AWESOME!
And the letter says that for the duration of the Visa that will get issued when I first enter the country, I can then leave and enter the country as many times as I want so I will be able to visit the states and do stuff with no dramas....except now I need to find out about what US Visa I will need as they are strict about you entering the country without a Visa of a certain kind if you are working ANYWHERE in North America - even non US parts. Nice!
But thats the next official kinda thing I gotta look into...but I will have a while to sort that because all this reckless doll purchasing as gutted my savings. My bad!

Anyways - OMGAWD I CAN GO TO CANADA AND GET A JOB AND SUPPORT MYSELF AND SEE FIRDA AND TROY AND MAYBE STAKE OUT A SET FOR SUPERNATURAL SOMETIME AND GO TO AN ICE HOCKEY GAME AND SEE SNOW AT CHRISTMAS AND HOLY SHIT LIVE IN ANOTHER COUNTRY BY MYSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I may be a little excited......
