epic fail au customs!

so there is this english mag called Peoples Friend.
some of these popular UK mags i think they do actually print some of them here to save on costs but this one clearly is not.
we have received an issue that came with a free packet of seeds inside. if it had been printed in oz it wouldnt have had the seeds which has RRP 99p on the packet.
isnt customs supposed to pick up on that shit to stop foreign plant life coming in and going nuts??? i mean seriously there could be ANYTHING in those packets of seeds.

oh yeah - and no caps coz i am typing this terribly fast at work so i dont get caught. eek!

This slide show shows a lot of the artwork.

Ooh you union people are sooo naughty! You made premmie Iemma cry!

Next week Sydney is gonna be inundated with Catholic kiddies and that ugly Pope guy for World Youth Day (i liked the last Pope better!). Much like the Olympics - I dont give a damn unless its gonna affect me getting to work - cant get the time off chums.
So I was a bit concerned about the news stories floating about that Cityrail staff were talking about striking on the busiest day.

Anyway, thankfully the threat worked and the govt have agreed to the union in questions demands and the strike is off, but omgawd some of the stories about this cracked me up so much. My fave was from the Daily Telegraph

The Rail, Tram and Bus Union yesterday exploited this fear to plot an all-out industrial war next Thursday - the day of the Pope's arrival and motorcade. The action would cripple the city. The Government has no contingency plan to cover the loss of train services and will today take legal action to stop the strike."
Writing with an agenda there much buddy? I means seriously what a WANKER!

But yeah the PM and the NSW State Premier plus of course the hysteria creating media were going off about it, about how the union were exploiting the situation. OF COURSE the union would use a big event like this to take a stand with - are you govt and media people STUPID?
The last few govts in this country have put such a chokehold on unions these days they usually cant demand shit. Its great to see one have a victory for once!

Addicted to Lush yet? Possibly

SO i have become quite fond of Lush stuff. I have a few LJ friends who raved about it, so near the end of last year I actually went in and bought some stuff....and LOVED most of it. GAWD my bathroom smells so good these days! HAHA!

Anyway, I have gone a few tmes now and I think the thing that I DONT like about Lush is that they discontinue products. The first time I went I bought 3 soaps. One I hated and didnt use, but the other two I ADORE and Australian Lush no longer has them - Alkmaar and Cherry Tree Lane. I LOVED CHERRY TREE LANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so cranky they discontinued that one! Looks like Alkmaar is still available in North America - hopefully it will still be available once I get there! :D

I have been using I Love Juicy shampoo and American Cream conditioner. American Cream is soooo yummy smelling - I sometimes get a whiff of myself at work and start swishing my head back and forth so I can smell it more! HAHA!
They recently brought out American Cream solid perfume which I bought when I was there on Friday. SO AWESOME!!

So yeah - with the discontinuing business I had to find other soaps to buy when I was there on Friday.
I bought Sultana of Soap which is totally yum! I just used it.....the smell reminds me of some kind of perfume but I cant think of which. I hope they keep it for a while.

I also bought Honey I Washed the Kids....but I dont think I can use it! I LOVE the American Cream conditioner and wanna sniff it all the time...but OMGAWD - I WANT TO EAT THIS SOAP! It smells so fricking DELICIOUS!

This time I also bought the Cynthia Sylvia Stout shampoo because my hair tends to frizz and this stuff is meant to help.
I also bought Imperialis moisturiser. I have been using the Angels on Bare Skin cleanser and the Tea Tree Water toner for a bit but thought I should get a moisturiser too. I dont know if they will work - I have never been a big one for this sort of stuff but my face was feeling a bit smoother with just the cleanser so I thought I might try out the whole routine. I have evil big looking pores and have read the only way to make them LOOK smaller is to keep the skin as clean as possible so - hey why not give it a try.

Anyways, so yeah - I am a bit of a fan. Sure - walking past or even into a Lush store can be a HUGE assault on your nose, but the stuff you come away with is definately worth it. Though the tendency I have these days to sniff myself is a wee bit odd. haha

Mount Franklin will plant you a tree

Mount Franklin bottled water has a promotion on their bottles at the moment - the first 250,000 people to either SMS the last 4 digits of the barcode on their bottles, or log into this website and enter the barcode - they will plant one tree on that persons behalf.

Dudes - the site is SOOO cute! And if you have a barcode - the lil animation of the person digging the hole and planting the tree is SO adorable! :D
It also gives you a link to a google map where they are gonna plant your tree. Mine is gonna be somewhere called Bacchus Marsh. NICE! LOLS!!!!!1

Nice lil environmentally friendly promo thing!

One short day week in the emerald Harbour city

I didnt put my stalking skills to good use. I was either too busy, too tired, too sick or had to work.
Oh yes - I could have had a VERY different week if I wasnt such a lazy wench!

The oh so lovely Jensen Ackles spent the last week in my fair city. Did I get to see him once in real life? HELL NO!
Thats just rude I tell you!

Anyways the fangirls have done a stellar job of keeping track of radio and tv interviews and we all went a bit mental over him being on the first ep of the return of Good News Week.

Anyways channel 10 have done an awesome job of posting all the segments (including the GNW ones) on the videos section of their Supernatural mini-site - so if you missed any of 'em - check it out!

Its okay - I be in Canada later this year....maybe I will meet him on the streets of Vancouver...or stand next to a set and hope he walks past or something! LOL - WHAT A LOSER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
