this makes me feel a bit better. you get the impression from the media so easily that every american just wants to go in and get ’em!! i am glad people are protesting about it. i dont think there is anything wrong with getting back at the people responsible, but i worry that innocent people are going to be harmed in the process when, from everything i have heard about it recently, Afghanistan is already in a pretty fucked up state and the people there are already suffering.

and on a related topic – i am getting so pissed off with the australian government – and seemingly the australian publics – views on refugees. these people are fleeing from countries that are in such a mess. they are trying to escape from oppressive governments, war-torn nations that we as people living in rather affluent countries could have demanded our governments do something about – and then have the gall to say – ‘no, we dont want you! go back to where you came from! we cant take you in.’

bullshit! BULL-FUCKING-SHIT!!!!!!

and watching my Notre Dame de Paris dvd last night (another post coming up about my happiness in getting it) was just so poignant – in it there are refugees asking Parisians to give them asylum – quite a few songs about it – and in the end the pricks running the place tell them to leave and lock them out.

i am feeling a little riled about the whole thing as you can see.

but its after 1pm. i have to get back to work.
