Just watched this. It had a lot to live up to for me because i lurrrrrrrrve John Carpenters The Thing.
Seriously Hollywood – can you not even attempt to try for a whole new story? Its not an homage anymore when I feel like I am watcing the same damn movie!
Like the testing the blood option gets sabotaged so they have to come up with another method. HELLO…did this not happen in the other film????
And omgawd like wow there are two americans who seem suspiciouly MacReady and Childs-like. And when they break back into the building someone gets hurt and voila – that person is unwell and turns into a creature…..and omgawd a guy with big hair like Windows gets aliened and ‘MacReadys’ flame thrower goes faulty at the wrong time. LIKE OMGAWD!! What movie am i watching again????? O.o
Hmm a slight change of pace when later creature shows up and MacReady-type dude runs off like a lil girl…what about the chick you arsehole?? omgawd.
Real MacReady would have sworn at it and commited some kind of violence on it before running off.
Oh and mr alien…the start up sequence for your spaceship seems ridiculously long. whats up with that? oh yeah…we need extra time to unfold the story, my bad. T.T
My mum went and saw it at the movies and she was all ‘woo! it totally ends just as John Carpenters one starts’ and yeah – thats cool. But it was pretty disappointing all round.
But it had a tough job trying to live up to one of my favourite movies.
Anyways – chicks with flame throwers are cool…but wait Aliens had that covered years ago!
