Rice cooker experiments.

I am a very lazy person.
If I am hungry I have to be veeeeery motivated to cook. I have no problem settling for a sandwich or toast. But since i moved out i have done a bit of cooking. Usually so i can save money some days instead of buying $10 lunches.
So my lazy arse loves the rice cooker. I don’t like plain boiled rice, and I am also too lazy to get out another appliance to stir fry it (also seriously limited bench space for cooking) so when I found a few recipes saying just throw in other stuff with some stock when you cook the rice and let it all simmer away till cooked I was all ‘hello yeah!!!!’
And i have yet to die from good poisoning yet so it must be okay. It tastes alright too…..though I don’t think its brilliant yet. Still experimenting with what to add.
Tonight was chicken stock, chicken, sweet potato, celery, onion, garlic, ginger, tiny bit of chilli, mushrooms, peas, corn, a few spices and new addition – some firm tofu.
Not a big fan of tofu unless its in something where it can soak up lots of flavour (like laksa), but its tolerable……except I added too much so i got sick of eating it REAL fast.
Anyways I didn’t start prepping till after 11pm. Had originally planned not to cook but then I got hungry.
Eating dinner after midnight? That’s just how I roll.
