well unless you have been living under a rock for the last 14 or so hours and you’ve come to my site to find out whats new in the world (and if so….well i love you but, hey – you’re weird!) then you will probally know that America have whipped out the weapons and are doing some target practice. 🙂
can i take this moment to not be serious and whinge about how this has so far affected my self-absorbed little world? yeah – thanks!
so – i am toddling off to bed around 3am aussie time and i tun the tv on so i can turn off my bedroom light and walk back to my bed without falling on my ass or banging my still sensitive toe on anything hard or spiky – and lo and behold – our man Dubya is on the screen saying that the have started firing on some cities in Afghanistan (can i spell it right this time???) only two tv stations at oz at this time had stared the non-stop news broadcasting AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!! but in the following hour while i sit up and watch the drama unfold they all join in. i mostly watched Sbs – which was broadcasting BBCs coverage and channel 9 which had the american ABC on.
by 4am i was getting annoyed with most of the reporters so i decided to turn the tv off and sleep.
so yeah – i am cranky because i heard when i woke up that the Emmys were cancelled……i like watching awards shows….a bit of mindless fluff for the brain….dont you think we need that sort of thing right now? hopefully it is just postponed.
anyways – to be a bit more serious – mostly last nite i was worrying about civilians taht might get hurt, or what the Taliban and al Qaeda (did i spell that right?) might do either in retaliation against America and the countries supporting them, or just to the people of Afghanistan.
before i left for work this morning mum and me were chatting about it all and we talked about the statements that Dubya and Tony Blair made. Tony Blair sounded far more animated and forceful than the Bush-freak. Dubya sounded like the aural (is that the right term?) version of a wet mop in comparison.
anyways – i started writing this at lunch time and had to edit it a bit as i am finally hitting post and publish now….at home time. hehehe
