Well I thought I would comment on the stuff I mentioned in the last post
First the Harry Potter books (following links are to Amazon.com so they all have different covers to what I have, and also the first book has a different title to what i have (i listed it as the title i have but the link goes to the American version) and the final book – I have in paperback but the link is to a hardback book because they didnt seem to have a paperback version.
Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone (called Sorcerors Stone in US)
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
I read these books this week, and I think that everyone should read them. They are really good. Now I haven’t read a lot of new children/teen fiction since I left high school (well actually since the early years of high school) but some of my fave books are still ones I read back then so I am not ashamed of reading what is considered to be childrens books.
The characters are great, the stories are wonderful. Makes you wanna not be a Muggle! 🙂
I am really looking forward to the next lot of books, and it’ll be interesting to see how the film lives up to whats in my mind. My mum said some bit of crap about she thinks #4 will be the last and I said I think they will at least go till Harry finishes at Hogwarts, and I was happy to discover on some site tonight that that is J. K. Rowlings plan. Nifty!
I keep starting to write things about the books but as I do I just seem to start writing something that will give stuff away and I dont want to do that. Just read them!!
Neon Genesis Evangelion DVD 3
Entertaining. As usual I was laughing in parts of it, and others cheering the kids on. Sometimes i just want to hit Asuka though. But she is growing on me. 🙂
Blood : the Last Vampire
Well as I said in my previous post I kept falling asleep watching this but that has no reflection on the dvd. 🙂 I just hadnt slept for over 24 hours before i started watching it. 🙂
What I saw – well visually – GORGEOUS!!!! I cant wait to watch the rest of it to see if the story is good too. Shall comment when I have seen the rest.
Stir of Echoes
well i saw this at the movies. i have been thinking about bits of this film for no apparent reason this last week – and then thursday i started feeling a real yen to see it again. when i was out on friday i went to some stores to try and buy it but no one had it and i finally asked someone in one of the shops and they said it would be out sometime this month (i live in australia and film/dvd/video releases always take awhile – it SUCKS!). but i figured it must at least be available to hire – so i got it out again. still as good as i remembered.
when i went and saw it at the movies i had no preconceived notions at all other than one of my fave sites at the time had gone on about Kevin Bacon digging shirtess. i am not a Kevin Bacon fan but i thought what the hell. so i was pleasantly surprised.
afterwards i went and bought the book to read. its one of the few times i enjoyed the movie more than the book. anyways – so yeah – good flick. watch it. but dont read the back of the thing – or any reviews that might spoil it for you!
Red Planet
I thought it was pretty good – and not just for the Val Kilmer pervage. liked it a LOT more than that PIECE OF SHIT Mission to Mars. what the fuck was that HOLLYWOOD?????
Okay – i am done.
